Former Barcelona and Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is ready to come out of retirement to replace injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

ToggleBarcelona dealt with a major injury blow on Sunday as captain Ter Stegen suffered a horrific knee injury and was carried off on a stretcher in tears during the club's 5-1 win over Villarreal in La Liga. A day later, the Catalan giants carried out tests after which they revealed that the goalkeeper has a complete rupture in the patella and has undergone surgery.

Amid fears of the Germany international missing the remainder of the season, Barcelona may make an emergency signing cover for him, and ex-custodian Bravo has offered to bail out the club from the crisis. The Chilean, who plied his trade with the Baugrana between 2014 and 2016, claimed that he is ready to come out of retirement if he is needed.
Speaking just a month after exiting professional football at the age of 41, the former shot stopper said winwin: "If Barcelona calls me, I will be ready."
The club are yet to announce whether they are planning to sign a new goalkeeper to replace Ter Stegen. Hansi Flick's side will be next seen in action on Wednesday night as they take on Getafe in La Liga.
